Ba'al Shem Tov, Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur 2/בעל שם טוב על התורה·
איש שני סוגי מוכיחים ומתפללים בימים נוראים, אחד, המקפיד שיהיה לו חיתוך הדיבור טוב ויפה, שבזה ישא חן בעיני המוני עם ונשים, ואינו יוצא מפנימייות הלב, כמו שכתבתי במקום אחר בשם מורי זלה"ה משל לבן המלך והזונה יעו"ש, ובחינה ב' המקפיד על תוכן הדברים שיהיו מיוסדים על שרשים טובים, והוא מפנימייות הלב גם כן ואין לו חיתוך הדיבור:

1There are two types of preachers6 and prayer-leaders on the Days of Awe. The first is careful to enunciate his words properly and beautifully, in order to find favor in the eyes of the common folk and the women. However, his words do not emerge from the depth of his heart.
