1THE FAVORED. Ratzuy (favored) means the beloved.

בוטובל בשמן רגל. מרוב השמן כטעם כבס ביין לבושו וכן אמר יעקב שמנה לחמו:

2AND LET HIM DIP HIS FOOT IN OIL. Because of the abundance of oil. It is similar to He washeth his garments in wine (Gen. 49:11). Jacob similarly said,¹⁶⁰ his bread shall be fat (Gen. 49:20).
