Ibn Ezra on Exodus 32:5/אבן עזרא על שמות ל״ב:ה׳

אוירא אהרן. בלב כמו וראיתי אני (קהלת ב יג) בלבי, וירא יעקב כי יש שבר (ברא' מב א):

1AND WHEN AARON SAW THIS. In his heart.⁹ means, and when Aaron considered the situation. I.E. comments thus because Scripture should have read and when Aaron heard this (Krinsky). The word saw here is similar to the word saw in Then I saw (Eccles. 2:13),¹⁰. This obviously means: then I realized [saw in my heart] that wisdom excelleth folly. and the word saw in Now Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt (Gen. 42:1).¹¹
