Ibn Ezra on Exodus 33:14/
1[MY PRESENCE.] Saadiah Gaon says that the meaning of the word panai (my presence)45 means my anger, as in u-fanehah lo hayu lah od (and her countenance was no more sad) (I Sam. 1:18).46 Now, what will the Gaon do with the word panekha (thy presence) in If Thy presence go not with me (v. 15)?47 (thy presence) in this verse as anger because then the verse would read, If Thy anger go not with me, carry us not up hence. I believe that panai means I, myself. It is similar to the word panekha (thine own person) in and that thou go to battle in thine own person (panekha) (II Sam. 17:11).
