Ibn Ezra on Exodus 33:19/
1AND WILL PROCLAIM THE NAME OF THE LORD. Scripture writes with regard to Abraham, and (he) called upon the name (be-shem) of the Lord (Gen. 12:8).49. People were the ones who were called upon to serve the Lord.50 The word be-shem (upon the name) is therefore connected51 to God’s glorious name. However, this is not the case with and proclaimed the name of the Lord (Ex. 34:5),52. Here the word ve-shem (the name) is not connected by a cantillical note to Adonai (the Lord). In fact, the cantillical notes connect it to va-yikra. for here the Lord is the one who calls.53 It is the same case with and will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee.54 is connected to Adonai.
