אונשקפה. לשון נקבה על הגיא:
1WHICH LOOKETH DOWN. Ve-nishkafah (which looketh down) is in the feminine. It refers to the valley.70 (valley) can be masculine or feminine.
בהישימון. מקום שממה והעד ובתהו יליל ישימון וכן תעו במדבר בישימון דרך:
2UPON THE DESERT. The word yeshimon (desert) means a wasteland (shemamah). And in the waste, a howling wilderness (yeshimon) (Deut. 32:10) is the proof text. So too is They wandered in the wilderness (yeshimon) in a desert way (Ps. 107:4).
