שִׂים שָׁלוֹם טוֹבָה וּבְרָכָה חַיִּים חֵן וָחֶסֶד וְרַחֲמִים עָלֵינוּ וְעַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל עַמֶּךָ.
שִׂים שָׁלוֹם טוֹבָה וּבְרָכָה חַיִּים חֵן וָחֶסֶד וְרַחֲמִים עָלֵינוּ וְעַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל עַמֶּךָ.
1Dispute Makes a Person Prematurely Famous, Harming Him and His CauseWhen a person begins serving God, he needs to wait a proper amount of time until he becomes known as a Torah leader. But dispute causes damage that results in such a person becoming prematurely known. This premature fame then harms that person or the way of serving God that he wanted to promulgate.It may even happen that people engaged in dispute die. And even if the harm is not that bad, the dispute causes poverty.Loving Peace and Pursuing PeaceGive us and Your entire nation, the Jewish people, peace, goodness, blessing, life, graciousness, kindness and compassion.
באֲדוֹן הַשָּׁלוֹם מֶלֶךְ שֶׁהַשָּׁלוֹם שֶׁלּוֹ, בָּרְכֵנוּ בַשָּׁלוֹם, וְתִפְקְדֵנִי אוֹתִי וְאֶת כָּל בְּנֵי־בֵיתִי, לְחַיִּים טוֹבִים וּלְשָׁלוֹם, וְתַצִּילֵנוּ מִן הָעֲנִיּוּת וּמִן הַחֹסֶר.
2Master of peace, King Who possesses peace, bless us with peace. Grant me and everyone in my family a good life and peace. Rescue us from poverty and want.
גרִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם, רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ וְעַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְשָׁמְרֵנוּ וְהַצִּילֵנוּ מִן הָרִיב וּמַחֲלֹקֶת, כִּי אַתָּה יוֹדֵעַ כַּמָּה שָׂנוּא הַמַּחֲלֹקֶת וְגָדוֹל הַשָּׁלוֹם.
3Master of the world, have compassion on us and on the entire Jewish people. Guard us and deliver us from argument and dispute. You know how hateful dispute is, and how great is peace.
דלַמְּדֵנִי וְהוֹרֵנִי אֵיךְ לְהִתְנַהֵג עִם כָּל בָּאֵי עוֹלָם, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה לִהְיוֹת בְּשָׁלוֹם יַחְדָּו עִם כָּל בְּנֵי תֵבֵל, וַאֲפִלּוּ עִם הַחוֹלְקִים עָלַי,
4Teach me and show me how to treat all people, so that I will be at with peace with everyone in the world.
התִּתֵּן בְּלִבִּי דֶרֶךְ וְעֵצָה אֲמִתִּיִּית כִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב, שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה לֵידַע אֵיךְ לְהִתְנַהֵג עִמָּהֶם עִם כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁלֹּא אַחֲזִיק בְּמַחֲלֹקֶת,
5Show my heart a path and give it true counsel, in accordance with Your good will, so that I will know how to treat people, even those who dispute me, and so that I myself will not engage in dispute.
ורַק אֶזְכֶּה לִהְיוֹת תָּמִיד אוֹהֵב שָׁלוֹם וְרוֹדֵף שָׁלוֹם בֶּאֱמֶת, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב, סוּר מֵרָע וַעֲשֵׂה טוֹב בַּקֵּשׁ שָׁלוֹם וְרָדְפֵהוּ.
6May I always truly love peace and pursue peace. As the verse states, “Turn aside from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it.”
זוּתְרַחֵם עָלֵינוּ וְתִשְׁמְרֵנוּ שֶׁלֹּא יִגְרֹם הַמַּחֲלֹקֶת שֶׁבָּעוֹלָם לְפַרְסֵם חַס וְשָׁלוֹם מְפֻרְסָמִים קֹדֶם זְמַנָּם, כִּי אַתָּה הוֹדַעְתָּנוּ בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ, גֹּדֶל הַפְּגַם וְהַהֶפְסֵד הַמַּגִּיעַ מִזֶּה חַס וְשָׁלוֹם:
7May No Jew Become Prematurely FamousHave compassion on us and guard us so that dispute will not cause people to gain fame before their time, Heaven forbid. In Your compassion, You have informed us of the great blemish and loss that results when that occurs, Heaven forbid.
חרַחֵם עָלֵינוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ, וְזַכֵּנוּ אוֹתָנוּ וְאֶת כָּל עַמְּךָ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְעָזְרֵנוּ וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ בְּכָל־עֵת, שֶׁכָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד יֵלֵךְ בְּדֶרֶךְ הַיָּשָׁר, בְּדֶרֶךְ הָאֱמֶת, בְּדֶרֶךְ הַקֹּדֶשׁ, כְּפִי אֲשֶׁר הוֹרוּנוּ וְלִמְּדוּנוּ אֲבוֹתֵינוּ וְרַבּוֹתֵינוּ הַקְּדוֹשִׁים,
8Have compassion on us for the sake of Your Name. Help us and Your entire nation, the House of Israel. Save us at every moment, so that every individual will go upon the straight, true way, the way of holiness, as our forefathers and holy rabbis have guided and taught us.
טעַד אֲשֶׁר כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד יִזְכֶּה לְגַלּוֹת וּלְהָאִיר בָּעוֹלָם אֶת הַדֶּרֶךְ הַקֹּדֶשׁ הָאֱמֶת שֶׁהוּא הוֹלֵךְ בּוֹ,
9May every individual reveal the true, holy way upon which he proceeds and cause it to shine in the world.
ילְגַלּוֹת בְּכָל פַּעַם עֵצוֹת וּדְרָכִים חֲדָשִׁים, קְדוֹשִׁים וּטְהוֹרִים אֲמִתִּיִּים, אֵיךְ לִזְכּוֹת לְהִתְקָרֵב לְהַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ בֶּאֱמֶת.
10May everyone constantly discover new, holy, pure, true advice and ways in which to truly come close to You, HaShem.
יאוְתָגֵן עָלֵינוּ וְתִשְׁמְרֵנוּ תָמִיד שֶׁלֹּא יִתְפַּרְסֵם שׁוּם אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל קֹדֶם זְמַנּוֹ,
11Shield us and guard us always so that no Jew will gain fame before his time.
יברַק כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד יִזְכֶּה לֵילֵךְ וְלִכְנֹס בְּדֶרֶךְ הַקֹּדֶשׁ בֶּאֱמֶת, וְלֵילֵךְ וְלִדְרֹךְ בּוֹ יָמִים וְשָׁנִים בֶּאֱמֶת וּבְלֵב שָׁלֵם, בְּתוֹסֶפֶת קְדֻשָּׁה וְטָהֳרָה וְחַיּוּת חָדָשׁ וְהִתְעוֹרְרוּת חָדָשׁ וְנִפְלָא בְּכָל־עֵת.
12Rather, may each individual go forward and enter upon the way of true holiness. May he proceed and walk upon that path for days and years, sincerely and wholeheartedly, at every moment increasing holiness, purity, new life and new, wondrous inspiration.
יגוְנִזְכֶּה לְהִתְמַהְמֵהַּ וְלִשְׁהוֹת שָׁם בְּדֶרֶךְ הַקֹּדֶשׁ הָאֲמִתִּי, זְמַן הָרָאוּי בֶּאֱמֶת, וּלְהִתְחַמֵּם שָׁם בְּהִתְלַהֲבוּת דִּקְדֻשָּׁה כָּרָאוּי, עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ הַזְּמַן וְהָעֵת הָרָאוּי בֶּאֱמֶת לְגַלּוֹת וּלְהוֹדִיעַ וּלְפַרְסֵם הַדֶּרֶךְ הַקֹּדֶשׁ בָּעוֹלָם,
13May we wait and remain there in the way of true holiness for the necessary length of time, warming ourselves with an appropriate amount of holy fervor, until the truly right time and season will come for us to reveal, teach and publicize the holy path in the world.
ידוְלֹא יִתְפַּרְסֵם שׁוּם אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל קֹדֶם זְמַנּוֹ. וְתִשְׁמְרֵנוּ וְתַצִּילֵנוּ מִכָּל מִינֵי הֶזֵּקוֹת וְצַעַר וְיִסּוּרִין הַבָּאִים עַל־יְדֵי־זֶה חַס וְשָׁלוֹם,
14May no Jew become prematurely famous. Guard us and rescue us from all sorts of damage, suffering and adversity that come as a result of that, Heaven forbid.
טווְתַמְשִׁיךְ עָלֵינוּ חַיִּים טוֹבִים וַאֲרוּכִּים, וְלֹא יָמוּת שׁוּם אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל קוֹדֶם זְמַנּוֹ.
15Send us a good, long life. May no Jew die before his time. Rather, may every individual experience many good days and years in Torah, prayer and good deeds.
טזרַק כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד יִזְכֶּה לְהַאֲרִיךְ יָמִים וְשָׁנִים טוֹבִים בְּתוֹרָה וּתְפִלָּה וּמַעֲשִׂים טוֹבִים, עַד שֶׁיִּזְכֶּה לְגַלּוֹת הַדֶּרֶךְ הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּעוֹלָם כְּפִי חֶלְקוֹ שֶׁיֵּשׁ לוֹ בְּהַתּוֹרָה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה, כְּפִי שֹׁרֶשׁ נִשְׁמָתוֹ, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁיִּתְגַּלּוּ דַרְכֵי הַקְּדֻשָּׁה בָּעוֹלָם,
16May each person at last reveal the path of holiness in the world, in accordance with his portion in the holy Torah, in accordance with the root of his soul, so that the ways of holiness will be revealed.
יזוְיִתְגַּלּוּ וְיָאִירוּ בָּעוֹלָם כָּל הָעֵצוֹת הָעֲמוּקוֹת וְכָל הַדְּרָכִים הַחֲדָשִׁים וְהַנִּפְלָאִים שֶׁהִמְשִׁיכוּ הַצַּדִּיקִים בָּעוֹלָם מִיּוֹם מַתַּן־תּוֹרָה עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה, כֻּלָּם יָאִירוּ עַל פְּנֵי תֵבֵל, לָדַעַת בָּאָרֶץ דַּרְכֶּךָ בְּכָל גּוֹיִם יְשׁוּעָתֶךָ,
17May all of the profound counsel and all of the new and wondrous paths that the Tzaddikim have drawn into the world since the giving of the Torah until this day be revealed and shine. May they all illuminate the face of the world “so that Your way will be known upon the earth, Your salvation among all of the nations.”
יחבְּאֹפֶן שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה כֻלָּנוּ אֲנַחְנוּ וְצֶאֱצָאֵינוּ עַד סוֹף כָּל הַדּוֹרוֹת, לְהִתְקָרֵב אֵלֶיךָ תָמִיד בֶּאֱמֶת לַאֲמִתּוֹ, וְלֵילֵךְ בִּדְרָכֶיךָ הַקְּדוֹשִׁים, בְּדַרְכֵי הַצַּדִּיקִים הָאֲמִתִּיִּים הַגְּדוֹלִים וְהַנּוֹרָאִים, זְכוּתָם יָגֵן עָלֵינוּ, לְקָרְבֵנוּ אֵלֶיךָ בֶּאֱמֶת מְהֵרָה.
18In that way, may we all — we and our offspring until the end of all generations — come close to You always in ultimate truth and walk in Your holy ways, in the ways of the great and awesome true Tzaddikim, so that we will truly come close to You quickly.
יטוְתִתֶּן לָנוּ פַּרְנָסוֹתֵינוּ בְּהַרְחָבָה גְּדוֹלָה מֵאִתְּךָ, וְתִשְׁמְרֵנוּ וְתַצִּילֵנוּ מִן הָעֲנִיּוּת וְהַדַּחֲקוּת, וְלֹא יִצְטָרְכוּ עַמְּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל זֶה לָזֶה וְלֹא לְעַם אַחֵר.
19Send us our income with great breadth. Guard us and rescue us from poverty and want. May Your nation, the Jewish people, not be dependent on each other or on any other nation.
כרַק בְּרַחֲמֶיךָ הָרַבִּים, תַּשְׁפִּיעַ לָנוּ לְכָל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד פַּרְנָסָתוֹ וְכָל הִצְטָרְכוּתוֹ בְּהַרְחָבָה גְּדוֹלָה קֹדֶם שֶׁיִּצְטָרֵךְ לָהֶם בְּנַחַת וְלֹא בְּצַעַר, בְּהֶתֵּר וְלֹא בְּאִסּוּר, בְּכָבוֹד וְלֹא בְּבִזָּיוֹן.
20Rather, in Your vast compassion, pour forth onto each and every individual his income and all that he needs with great breadth before he needs it — with ease and not with suffering, in a manner that is permitted and not forbidden, with honor and not with disgrace.
כאוְתָגֵן עָלֵינוּ תָמִיד שֶׁלֹּא יִגְרֹם הַמַּחֲלֹקֶת חַס וְשָׁלוֹם,
21Shield us always so that dispute will not destroy us, Heaven forbid.
כבלְהַפִּיל נְפָלִים חָלִילָה. וְלֹא יַגִּיעַ שׁוּם הֶזֵּק וּפְגָּם לֹא לְדֶרֶךְ הַקֹּדֶשׁ בְּעַצְמוֹ שֶׁצְּרִיכִין הַצַּדִּיקִים וְהַכְּשֵׁרִים לְגַלּוֹת בָּעוֹלָם בְּכָל עֵת, וְלֹא לְהָאֲנָשִׁים הַנִּכְנָסִים בּוֹ לְגַלּוֹתוֹ. וְלֹא תַפִּיל אִשָּׁה פְּרִי בִטְנָהּ (וּבִפְרָט לִפְלוֹנִי בַּת פְּלוֹנִית) וְלָא יַעְדֵּי עָבֵיד שׁוּלְטָן מִדְּבֵית יְהוּדָה:
22May no damage or blemish affect the holy path that the Tzaddikim and worthy people must constantly reveal in the world, or affect the people who go upon that way in order to reveal it. May no woman miscarry the fruit of her womb (in particular, [Hebrew name], the daughter of [mother’s Hebrew name]). And may sovereignty never leave the House of Judah.
כגרִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם, מַלֵּא מִשְׁאֲלוֹתֵינוּ לְטוֹבָה בְּרַחֲמִים, כִּי צְרָכַי מְרֻבִּים מְאֹד, וְדַעְתִּי קְצָרָה לְבָאֵר וּלְפָרֵשׁ,
23God Loves Every JewMaster of the world, compassionately fulfill our requests for the good. My needs are many and my awareness is too abbreviated to explain and elucidate what I need.
כדכִּי בְּכָל דָּבָר וְדָבָר שֶׁאֲנִי מַתְחִיל לְסַדֵּר תְּפִלָּה עָלָיו, יֵשׁ בְּלִבִּי הַרְבֵּה דְבָרִים מְאֹד לְרַצּוֹת אוֹתְךָ וּלְהִתְפַּלֵּל לְפָנֶיךָ עֲלֵיהֶם.
24There are a great many things in my heart to ask You for and to pray to You about.
כהאַךְ דַּעְתִּי עֲכוּרָה וְטַעֲנוֹתַי נִסְתַּתְּמִין, וְאֵינִי יָכוֹל לִפְרֹט בְּפִי כָּל צָרְכֵי בַּקָּשׁוֹתַי וְכָל מִשְׁאֲלוֹתַי שֶׁיֵּשׁ בְּכָל דְּבַר קְדֻשָּׁה שֶׁאֲנִי עוֹסֵק לְהִתְפַּלֵּל עָלָיו,
25But my mind is muddled and my arguments are impeded, and I cannot express in detail everything I need and all of my requests regarding every holy matter that I am praying for.
כואַךְ אַתָּה מֵבִין כָּל תַּעֲלוּמוֹת לֵב וְאַתָּה יוֹדֵעַ סְתָרֵינוּ.
26But You understand all of the hidden matters of the heart, and You know our secret places.
כזחַנּוּן וְרַחוּם, עֲשֵׂה לְמַעַנְךָ וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ, וְהוֹרֵנוּ דְרָכֶיךָ, וְהַט לִבֵּנוּ לְיִרְאָה אֶת שִׁמְךָ בֶּאֱמֶת.
27You Who are gracious and compassionate, act for Your sake and save us for the sake of Your Name. Guide us in Your ways and direct our heart to truly fear Your Name.
כחוְהַצִּילֵנוּ וְשָׁמְרֵנוּ מִכָּל מִינֵי רִיב וּמַחֲלֹקֶת וְשִׂנְאָה וְקִנְטוּר שֶׁנִּתְרַבֶּה בָּעוֹלָם מְאֹד בַּעֲוֹנוֹתֵינוּ הָרַבִּים.
28Rescue us and guard us from every type of argument, dispute, hatred, jealousy and hostility, which have increased greatly in the world because of our many sins.
כטרַחֵם עָלֵינוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ לְמַעַן תּוֹרָתֶךָ, לְמַעַן אֲמִתַּת קְדֻשַּׁת הַצַּדִּיקִים הָאֲמִתִּיִּים, וְהַשְׁקֵט הַמַּחֲלֹקֶת מְהֵרָה, וְתָשִׂים שָׁלוֹם גָּדוֹל בֵּין כָּל הַבְּרוּאִים שֶׁבָּעוֹלָם, וּתְגַלֶּה הָאֱמֶת בָּעוֹלָם.
29Have compassion on us for the sake of Your Name, for the sake of Your Torah, for the sake of the true holiness of the true Tzaddikim. Silence dispute quickly. Bring great peace between all created beings in the world, and reveal the truth.
לוְתִשְׁלַח לָנוּ בְּכָל דּוֹר וָדוֹר צַדִּיקִים אֲמִתִּיִּים שֶׁיּוֹרוּ אוֹתָנוּ בְּכָל עֵת, הַדֶּרֶךְ אֲשֶׁר נֵלֵךְ בָּהּ וְאֶת הַמַּעֲשֶׂה אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשֶׂה,
30Send us true Tzaddikim in every generation who will guide us at every moment on the way that we should walk, and who will inform us of the deeds that we should perform.
לאבְּאֹפֶן שֶׁנִּזְכֶּה כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד לָשׁוּב אֵלֶיךָ בֶּאֱמֶת מִכָּל הַמְּקוֹמוֹת וְהָעִנְיָנִים אֲשֶׁר נָפַל וְנִתְעָה בָּהֶם, וְאַל יִדַּח מִמְּךָ נִדָּח.
31May every individual truly return to You from all of the places and areas in which he fell and went astray. And may no one remain rejected.
לבוְתִזְכֹּר אַהֲבָתְךָ וְרַחֲמָנוּתְךָ שֶׁיֵּשׁ לְךָ עַל־כָּל אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל, אֲפִלּוּ עַל הַקַּל שֶׁבַּקַּלִּים וְהַגָּרוּעַ שֶׁבַּגְּרוּעִים, זְכֹר רַחֲמֶיךָ יְהֹוָה וַחֲסָדֶיךָ כִּי מֵעוֹלָם הֵמָּה,
32Remember Your love and compassion for every individual Jew, even the slightest and the most unworthy. “Recall Your compassion, HaShem, and Your lovingkindness, because they are eternal.”
לגוְאַל תַּעַזְבֵנוּ וְאַל תִּטְּשֵׁנוּ בַּדּוֹר הֶעָנִי הַזֶּה, וּשְׁלַח לָנוּ מַנְהִיגִים אֲמִתִּיִּים שֶׁיִּהְיוּ רְאוּיִים לְהַנְהִיג אוֹתָנוּ בֶּאֱמֶת כִּרְצוֹנְךָ הַטּוֹב, וְלֹא תִהְיֶה עֲדַת יְהֹוָה כַּצֹּאן אֲשֶׁר אֵין לָהֶם רֹעֶה.
33Do not abandon us or spurn us in this poor generation. Send us genuine leaders who will be worthy of truly guiding us in accordance with Your good will. “May the congregation of HaShem not be like a flock of sheep that have no shepherd.”
לדחוּס וַחֲמֹל עָלֵינוּ, רַחֵם רַחֵם בַּעַל הָרַחֲמִים, הוֹרֵנִי יְהֹוָה דַּרְכֶּךָ אֲהַלֵּךְ בַּאֲמִתֶּךָ, יַחֵד לְבָבִי לְיִרְאָה שְׁמֶךָ.
34Have pity and mercy on us. Have compassion, Master of compassion! “HaShem, teach me Your ways. I will walk in Your truth. Unite my heart to fear Your Name.”
לההוֹרֵנִי יְהֹוָה דַּרְכֶּךָ וּנְחֵנִי בְּאֹרַח מִישׁוֹר לְמַעַן שׁוֹרְרָי. דְּרָכֶיךָ יְהֹוָה הוֹדִיעֵנִי אוֹרְחוֹתֶיךָ לַמְּדֵנִי. הַדְרִיכֵנִי בַאֲמִתֶּךָ וְלַמְּדֵנִי כִּי אַתָּה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעִי, אוֹתְךָ קִוִּיתִי כָּל הַיּוֹם.
35“HaShem, teach me Your ways. Guide me on a path that is straight, despite [my enemies] who gaze upon me.” “Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; it is for You that I have hoped all the day.”
לוהוֹרֵנִי יְהֹוָה דֶּרֶךְ חֻקֶּיךָ וְאֶצֳּרֶנָּה עֵקֶב. הַדְרִיכֵנִי בִּנְתִיב מִצְוֹתֶיךָ כִּי בוֹ חָפָצְתִּי.
36“HaShem, teach me the way of Your laws, and I will keep it at every step.” “Lead me upon the pathway of Your commandments, for I have desired it.”
לזיִהְיוּ לְרָצוֹן אִמְרֵי־פִי וְהֶגְיוֹן לִבִּי לְפָנֶיךָ יְהֹוָה צוּרִי וְגוֹאֲלִי.
37“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing before You, HaShem, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
לחעוֹשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם בִּמְרוֹמָיו הוּא בְּרַחֲמָיו יַעֲשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם עָלֵינוּ וְעַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאִמְרוּ אָמֵן:
38May He Who makes peace in His heights, in His compassion make peace upon us and upon all Israel, and say, “Amen.”
