Psalms 97/תהילים צ״ז

איְהֹוָ֣ה מָ֭לָךְ תָּגֵ֣ל הָאָ֑רֶץ יִ֝שְׂמְח֗וּ אִיִּ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃

1GOD is sovereign!Let the earth exult,the many islands rejoice!

בעָנָ֣ן וַעֲרָפֶ֣ל סְבִיבָ֑יו צֶ֥דֶק וּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט מְכ֣וֹן כִּסְאֽוֹ׃

2Surrounded by dense clouds—righteousness and justice are the base of the heavenly throne.

גאֵ֭שׁ לְפָנָ֣יו תֵּלֵ֑ךְ וּתְלַהֵ֖ט סָבִ֣יב צָרָֽיו׃

3Fire is the vanguard,burning up foes on every side.

דהֵאִ֣ירוּ בְרָקָ֣יו תֵּבֵ֑ל רָאֲתָ֖ה וַתָּחֵ֣ל הָאָֽרֶץ׃

4God’s lightnings light up the world;the earth is convulsed at the sight;

ההָרִ֗ים כַּדּוֹנַ֗ג נָ֭מַסּוּ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה מִ֝לִּפְנֵ֗י אֲד֣וֹן כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

5mountains melt like wax at GOD’s presence,at the presence of the Sovereign of all the earth.

והִגִּ֣ידוּ הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם צִדְק֑וֹ וְרָא֖וּ כׇל־הָעַמִּ֣ים כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃

6The heavens proclaim God’s righteousnessand all peoples see God’s glory.

זיֵבֹ֤שׁוּ׀ כׇּל־עֹ֬בְדֵי פֶ֗סֶל הַמִּֽתְהַלְלִ֥ים בָּאֱלִילִ֑ים הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־ל֝֗וֹ כׇּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃

7All who worship images,who vaunt their idols,are dismayed;all divine beings bow down in homage.

חשָׁמְעָ֬ה וַתִּשְׂמַ֨ח׀ צִיּ֗וֹן וַ֭תָּגֵלְנָה בְּנ֣וֹת יְהוּדָ֑ה לְמַ֖עַן מִשְׁפָּטֶ֣יךָ יְהֹוָֽה׃

8Zion, hearing it, rejoices,the towns^a of Judah exult,because of Your judgments, O ETERNAL One.

טכִּֽי־אַתָּ֤ה יְהֹוָ֗ה עֶלְי֥וֹן עַל־כׇּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ מְאֹ֥ד נַ֝עֲלֵ֗יתָ עַל־כׇּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃

9For You, ETERNAL One, are supreme over all the earth;You are exalted high above all divine beings.

יאֹֽהֲבֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֗ה שִׂנְא֫וּ־רָ֥ע שֹׁ֭מֵר נַפְשׁ֣וֹת חֲסִידָ֑יו מִיַּ֥ד רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יַצִּילֵֽם׃

10O you who love GOD, hate evil!For the lives of the loyal are guarded;they are saved from the hand of the wicked.

יאא֭וֹר זָרֻ֣עַ לַצַּדִּ֑יק וּֽלְיִשְׁרֵי־לֵ֥ב שִׂמְחָֽה׃

11Light is sown for the righteous,radiance^b for the upright.

יבשִׂמְח֣וּ צַ֭דִּיקִים בַּיהֹוָ֑ה וְ֝הוֹד֗וּ לְזֵ֣כֶר קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃

12O you righteous, rejoice in GOD and acclaim God’s holy name!
