Rashi on Deuteronomy 28:42/
1יירש הצלצל means, the locust will make it (the tree) bare (lit., will impoverish it) of its fruits.
2יירש means, it will impoverish.
3צלצל is a species of locust. — One cannot explain יְָירֵשׁ as meaning "inheriting" ("taking possesion of", as the Targum does), for if so it ought to have written יִירַשׁ (cf. Genesis 21:10). Nor can it have the meaning of “driving out” and “expelling”, for then it ought to have written יוריש.
