Ibn Ezra on Deuteronomy 5:19/אבן עזרא על דברים ה׳:י״ט
אאת הדברים האלה. הטעם עשרת הדברים ולא הדבורים:
1THESE WORDS. Its meaning is, these Ten Statements and not the words which follow them.55
בקול גדול. שלא שמעו כמוהו:
2A GREAT VOICE. They never heard one like it.
גולא יסף. כי זה היה פעם אחת והנה ביאר למה לא יסף והוא ויהי כשמעכם:
3AND IT WENT ON NO MORE. This occurred only one time. Observe, Scripture explains why the voice went on no more, namely, And it came to pass, when ye heard…(v. 20).
