Ibn Ezra on Exodus 33:10/אבן עזרא על שמות ל״ג:י׳

אוראה. זה המעשה היה אחר פרשת ראה אתה אומר אלי (פ' יב) כי היא היתה בקרב הארבעים יום שהתנפל על דבר העגל ואח"כ ירד ופסל את הלוחות אז עבר השם על פניו ויצא לידי מעשה מה שאמר לו וראית את אחורי (פ' כג):

1AND WHEN ALL THE PEOPLE SAW. This took place after what is reported in the section beginning with the words, See, Thou sayest unto me (v. 12), for what is recorded in the latter chapter occurred during the forty days that Moses fell before the Lord concerning the incident of the calf. After this, Moses descended and hewed out the stones. God then passed by Moses, and this led to the fulfillment of God’s word, and thou shalt see My back (v. 23).³⁶
