Ibn Ezra on Exodus 34:24/אבן עזרא על שמות ל״ד:כ״ד

אכי אוריש. פי' בפרשה הזאת למה, שלא הזכיר בראשונה כי לא הוצרך, כי אחר שהשם צוה שיעלו כל זכרי ישראל לראות פניו, הנה אין ספק כי השם ישמור ארצם מפני האויב, אחר שכל ישראל עושים רצונו, וזה הטעם באר אותו היטב:

1FOR I WILL CAST OUT. Scripture explains in this chapter what it does not mention in the earlier one,²⁰² for there was no need to mention it in the earlier chapter.²⁰³ Now since God commanded²⁰⁴ all male Israelites to see His face,²⁰⁵ and all of Israel is doing His will, the Lord will undoubtedly guard their land from their enemies. Scripture explains this point very clearly.²⁰⁶

בוטעם ולא יחמוד איש את ארצך. כל כך אשלח אימה בלב השכנים אפילו שלא יחמדו הארץ אף שיעלה בלבם לעשות מלחמה:

2[NEITHER SHALL ANY MAN COVET THY LAND.] I will make your neighbors so fearful that they will not even covet your land.²⁰⁷ might be taken to mean that the Land of Israel is not a very desirable land. Hence I.E.’s comment. They certainly will not think of waging war.
