Ibn Ezra on Exodus 9:14/אבן עזרא על שמות ט׳:י״ד
אכי. הזכיר מגפותי בעבור הקולות והברד והמטר והאש שהתחברו ולא ראינו שפחד פרעה בכל המכות העוברות כאשר פחד מזאת, ואמר ד' הצדיק:
1FOR. Scripture reads, all My plagues because thunder, hail, rain, and fire combined in this plague. We do not find Pharaoh to be as afraid of all the passing plagues as he was of this one.54 He also said,55 the Lord is righteous (v. 27).
בוטעם כי אין כמוני בכל הארץ, כפי מחשבת מצרים היה שאלהיהם יוכלו להרע או להיטיב:
2[THAT THERE IS NONE LIKE ME IN ALL THE EARTH.] This was said56 implies that there are other gods but that they are weaker than the Lord. Hence I.E. comments that the Lord spoke in accordance with Egyptian belief that there are other gods. in accordance with Egyptian belief that their gods had the power to harm or to benefit.
