Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 26:43/אבן עזרא על ויקרא כ״ו:מ״ג
אוהארץ תעזב מהם. טעמו אזכור גם הארץ שפרעה את השבתות ונעזבה מהם וגם אזכור שהם הרצו את עונם:
1FOR THE LAND SHALL LIE FORSAKEN WITHOUT THEM. This means I will also remember the land that paid off its Sabbaths and was forsaken without them. I will also remember that they paid for their sin.
ביען וביען. האחד כנגד משפטי מאסו והשני ובחקותי געלה נפשם והבי״ת נוסף כבי״ת בראשונה:
2BECAUSE, EVEN BECAUSE. The first because corresponds to they rejected Mine ordinances. The second one corresponds to and their soul abhorred My statutes. The bet of ve-ya’an (even because) is superfluous. It is like the bet of ba-rishonah (in the beginning) (Gen. 13:4).137 of ba-rishonah is superfluous. See I.E. on Gen. 1:1 (Vol. 1, p. 21).
