Ramban on Deuteronomy 5:29/רמב"ן על דברים ה׳:כ״ט

אוּשְׁמַרְתֶּם לַעֲשׂוֹת כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה ה' אֱלֹהֵיכֶם אֶתְכֶם, זוֹ אַזְהָרָה עַל עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדִּבְּרוֹת שֶׁצִּוָּה אוֹתָם הַשֵּׁם מִפִּיו, וְאַחֲרֵי כֵן יַזְהִיר בִּשְׁאָר הַמִּצְוֹת שֶׁאָמְרוּ הֵם לִשְׁמֹעַ מִמֹּשֶׁה וְלַעֲשׂוֹת, וּלְכָךְ אָמַר (דברים ו':א') וְזֹאת הַמִּצְוָה הַחֻקִּים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה ה' אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לְלַמֵּד אֶתְכֶם, כִּי הַשֵּׁם הוֹדָה לְדִבְרֵיכֶם וְצִוָּה אוֹתִי לְלַמֵּד אֶתְכֶם שְׁאָר כָּל הַתּוֹרָה לְמַעַן תִּחְיוּן, שֶׁיְּמַלֵּא מִסְפַּר יְמֵיכֶם וְטוֹב לָכֶם בְּכָל הַטּוֹבָה אֲשֶׁר יָעַד לָכֶם בְּפָרָשַׁת אִם בְּחֻקּוֹתַי וְזוּלָתָהּ, וְהֶאֱרַכְתֶּם יָמִים בָּאָרֶץ, שֶׁתַּנְחִילוּ אוֹתָהּ לְזַרְעֲכֶם לְעוֹלָם:

1YE SHALL OBSERVE TO DO, THEREFORE, AS THE ETERNAL YOUR G-D COMMANDED YOU. This warning alludes to the Ten Commandments which G-d Himself communicated to them directly, and afterwards he admonished them with respect to the rest of the commandments which they said they [preferred to] hear from Moses and [they promised] to perform them. Therefore, he said, And this is the commandment, the statutes, and the ordinances which the Eternal your G-d commanded to teach you,²⁰⁰ since G-d agreed to your request and He commanded me to teach you the entire balance of the Torah, that ye may live,²⁰¹ that He may fulfill the number of your days,²⁰² and that it may be well with you²⁰¹ with all the good that He promised you in the section of If ye walk in My statutes²⁰³ and other sections besides; and that ye may prolong your days in the Land²⁰¹ that you will inherit for your children forever.
