Ibn Ezra on Exodus 3:14/אבן עזרא על שמות ג׳:י״ד
אויאמר. אהיה. פירושו אשר אהיה כמו "ובית דוד כאלהים" ואחריו "כמלאך ד' לפניהם" (זכרי' יב ה) והוא פירוש כאלהים:
1AND GOD SAID…I AM. Its meaning is, That I Am.112 explains I Am. In other words, God’s name is not I Am That I Am. His name is I Am, the meaning of which is, that I am. Compare, And the house of David shall be as God, As the angel of the Lord before them (Zech. 12:8). Angel of the Lord, which follows God, explains the term God.113
