Ibn Ezra on Exodus 5:13/אבן עזרא על שמות ה׳:י״ג

אוהנוגשים אצים. פועל יוצא כמלת שב וכמלת מש שימצא פעם יוצא ופעם עומד:

1AND THE TASKMASTERS WERE URGENT. Atzim (urgent) is a transitive verb.⁸⁴ is usually intransitive in the kal, hence I.E.’s comment. It is like the word shav (returned) and the word mash (moved), which is sometimes found transitive and at times intransitive.

בוטעם לאמר, לאמר להם:

2[SAYING.] Its meaning is, saying to them.⁸⁵.

גדבר יום ביומו. כמו "מדי חדש בחדשו" (ישעי' סו כג):

3DAILY. The phrase devar yom be-yomo (daily)⁸⁶ is similar to And from one sabbath to another (Is. 66:23).⁸⁷
