אמתנחם. מגזרת נחמה והטעם זאת היא נחמתו שיוכל להרגך והגאון אמר מגזרת ווע"ד בלשון ערבי:
1DOTH COMFORT HIMSELF. Mitnachem (doth comfort himself) comes from the same root as nechamah (consolation).92 and thus means to comfort or console. The meaning of our clause is: Esau’s sole consolation is that he will be able to kill you. However, the Gaon says that mitnachem means to set a time and is similar in meaning to the Arabic wa’ad.93
