Ibn Ezra on Genesis 48:8/אבן עזרא על בראשית מ״ח:ח׳

1[AND ISRAEL BEHELD JOSEPH’S SONS.] After stating in our verse, And Israel beheld Joseph’s sons, how could Scripture go on to say, Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see (v. 10)? The answer is, so that he could not see means he was not able to see clearly and recognize their faces.
