Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 19:29/אבן עזרא על ויקרא י״ט:כ״ט

אוטעם להזכיר אל תחלל את בתך. בעבור שרט לנפש שלא תתגלה לעיני הכל כי קול שבאשה ערוה ואף כי שרט:

1[PROFANE NOT THY DAUGHTER.] Scripture now mentions profane not thy daughter because it earlier stated Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh (v. 28). The import of our verse is, your daughter shall not be displayed before the public.¹⁵⁹ Now the voice of a woman is like her nakedness.¹⁶⁰ 24a. A cutting is certainly so.¹⁶¹

בולא תזנה הארץ. הטעם זנות אנשי הארץ כמו ארץ כי תחטא לי:

2LEST THE LAND FALL INTO HARLOTRY. The reference is to the harlotry of the people of the land.¹⁶² is short for lest the people of the land. Compare, when a land sinneth against Me (Ezek. 14:13).¹⁶³
