Sforno on Deuteronomy 2:30/ספורנו על דברים ב׳:ל׳
אכִּי הִקְשָׁה ה׳ אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶת רוּחוֹ. לְמַעַן שֶׁלֹּא לְהָנִיחַ אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל לַעֲבֹר בִּגְבוּלוֹ.
1כי הקשה ה' אלוקיך את רוחו, in order for him to refuse to allow the Israelites to traverse his territory.
בוְאִמֵּץ אֶת לְבָבוֹ. לְהִלָּחֵם.
2ואמץ את לבבו, in order to make war against them.
