Sforno on Genesis 31:24/ספורנו על בראשית ל״א:כ״ד
אפֶּן תְּדַבֵּר עִם יַעֲקֹב. אֲפִלּוּ דִּבּוּר אָסוּר לְךָ.
1Guard yourself that you do not speak. You are forbidden even to speak!
במִטּוֹב עַד רָע. לֹא תְּפַתֵּנּוּ שֶׁיָּשׁוּב בְּתִתְּךָ לוֹ תִּקְוָה לְהֵיטִיב עִמּוֹ, וְלֹא תַּגְזֵם אוֹתוֹ לְהָרַע עִמּוֹ.
2Either good. Do not try to lure Yaakov into returning with offers of benefits. Or evil. And do not threaten him.
