אויבן מזבח. בחורב, ומלת מזבח מושך עצמו ואחר עמו, וכן הוא מזבח ה':
1AND MOSES BUILT AN ALTAR. On Horeb. The word mizbe’ach (altar) is to be read as if written twice. Our verse is to be read as if written, mizbach Adonai (the altar of the Lord).78 (the Lord is my banner). I.E. suggests that we read the verse as follows: And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it the altar of the Lord who is my banner.
