Ibn Ezra on Exodus 3:16/אבן עזרא על שמות ג׳:ט״ז
אלך ואספת. טעם אלהי אברהם שכרת ברית אתו לתת לו את ארץ כנען:
1GO, AND GATHER. Scripture reads, the God of Abraham378 because God made a covenant with Abraham to give him the land of Canaan.379
בוהטעם פקד, באה עת פקודתם:
2[I HAVE SURELY REMEMBERED YOU.] The meaning of pakod (remembered) is that the time of their visitation had come.380 means to visit (cf. Ex. 20:5). Hence I.E.’s comment that pakod pakadti (I have surely remembered) means that the time that I should visit you (and keep my promise) has come. See Gen. 21:1 and the use of the word pakad therein.
