Ibn Ezra on Genesis 6:12/אבן עזרא על בראשית ו׳:י״ב
אומה שאמרו קדמונינו ז"ל כי טעם השחית כל בשר את דרכו שכל חי לא שמר דרך תולדתו ועות הנתיב הנטוע הידוע נכון הוא ומה נכבד דרש שדרשו שהשחיתו במים ודנם השם במים וכאשר מימיהם ממעל ומתחת כן היו המים שהשחיתם בם:
1Our sages are correct in interpreting for all flesh had corrupted their way to mean that all flesh engaged in unnatural and perverted sexual acts. Indeed, how precious is their interpretation to the effect that they corrupted with water33 108b. and were punished by God with water. Just as they placed their waters above and below,34 so God punished them by a flood whose waters came from above and below.
