Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 18:24/
1DEFILE NOT YE YOURSELVES. The tet of tittamme’u (defile ye yourselves) has a dagesh to compensate for the swallowed118 tav of the hitpa’el.119 is a hitpa’el. The dagesh does not compensate for the nun of the nifal.120 is not a nifal imperfect. The dagesh in the mem of tittamme’u, which is there according to the rules of grammar, is proof of this.121 is not placed in the middle root letter in the nifal imperfect It is in the hitpa’el. Observe, Scripture notes that each one of these acts defiles the soul.
