אויצעק העם אל משה. בפיוס:

1AND THE PEOPLE CRIED UNTO MOSES. In a conciliatory manner.⁹ (cried) literally means screamed. Hence I.E.’s comment.

בותשקע האש. כטעם ותכבה ואין לו אחר:

2AND THE FIRE ABATED. Va-tishka (abated) means extinguished. The word is not used again in Scripture¹⁰ means to sink. This root is used in the sense of extinguished only here. with this meaning.
