Ibn Ezra on Exodus 18:23/

1THEN THOU SHALT BE ABLE. The vav of ve-yakholta (then thou shalt be able)239 can be taken to mean: and thou shalt be able. Hence I.E.’s comment that it means: then thou shalt be able. is like the Arabic fah.240 If you do this thing, and God grants you permission to do it, then you will be able to endure. Now the word amod (endure) is an infinitive. It is like the word amod (stand)241 in Stand in the door of the tent (Jud. 4:20). Peshotah (strip you) ve-orah (and make you bare), va-chagorah (and gird) in Strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your lions (Is. 32:11) are also infinitives.
2[AND ALL THIS PEOPLE ALSO SHALL GO TO THEIR PLACE IN PEACE.] Its meaning is, when some the disputants who were standing before Moses were not able to present their cases before him242 for adjudication, their conflict intensified when they returned to their tents. However, now243 each one would return to his place, that is, his tent, in peace.
